Journal Making

Spent the day yesterday with a good friend of mine, also an artist, making handmade journals.  We spent an entire day a month ago making marbled paper.  It was so much fun, quite messy but VERY addictive.   After getting a lot of  few pages done, we decided to make journals out of them. She had been to a marbling and journal making workshop and was willing to teach me all she knew.  We cut pasted and worked all afternoon. One journal finished and I now have more projects to do.  Between painting, encaustics, marbling, journal making, vintage book journal making and jewelry I don't know where to start!!  Well off the plan my next artistic adventure. Photos to follow soon.joanna

2012

Well, here we are at 2012. I have so may art ideas swimming in my head I cannot seem to focus on any one. My latest idea I have been working on is new to me. It is Encaustic painting, I am at the research stage right now. I do have a few supplies but plan on going this week to finda hood fan to help with the fumes. I also would like to do some collaging, I have talked about this for a while and have been collecting lots of bits and baubles for this, but can seem to get anything down on canvas. I would love to find some local workshops on either or both of these. If anyone has any suggestions please post on my blog.

I also this year plan on doing a few more art shows and would like to get a few more followers on my blog. If you like my blog please pass it on to your friends and fellow artists. Well, i'm off to the studio to get something done... I hope.
