Honored to Receive a Best of Missouri Hands Artist Grant

A small bit of good news from the studio

I wanted to share a little bit of good news from the studio.

Recently I found out that I was awarded one of this year’s artist grants from Best of Missouri Hands. They only awarded two grants this year, so it really meant a lot to be chosen.

If you know me, you know I tend to just quietly work away in my studio — marbling paper, stitching, making books, and preparing kits for workshops. So moments like this feel especially meaningful.

Best of Missouri Hands is a wonderful organization that supports fine craft artists across Missouri, and I’m really honored to be part of this community of makers.

Lately the studio has been busy. I’m preparing for upcoming paper marbling workshops and embroidery classes, working with marbled papers, and continuing to explore the places where paper, thread, and fiber all come together in my work.

Teaching paper marbling and embroidery has become one of my favorite parts of what I do. I even recently did a live on zoom paper marbling demonstration for members of the Handmade Book Club, with participants joining from all over the world. There’s something really special about watching someone pull their first marbled sheet from the tray or finish a handmade book.

I’m deeply grateful to Best of Missouri Hands for supporting artists and recognizing the work we do.

Back to the studio now…
